P.3/4 are doing 'Looking after our planet ' for their class project.Therefore for homework this term I would like each child to do their own mini project .I will provide a list of animals to choose from and a few guidelines.It can be handed in in the first week of June.

Project - We are having a 'POW WOW ' on Tues. 24th March.I have asked each child to choose one of the following to MAKE for that day.
a bow and arrow, or a parfleche ,or a coup stick ,or a cradleboard.
The children should know what these objecta are.

P.3. - Sheet on multiplying
This homework is to cover the next 2 short weeks and so can be handed in on Fri.20th Feb.
P.3 and P.4 can continue with the rest of the spelling words on their sheet using the games to help practise.
P.3 can learn the 2 , 3 ,4 and 5 times tables.
P.4 learn the 6 ,7, 8 and 9 times tables to help with dividing .
For language they can read their library book and carry out the task in their pink homework jotter.

The following information explains what P.3/4 will be working on in the Summer Term 2008:-
Art homework for 23rd April.
Drawing a variety of fruit, think of tone, texture and colour.
R.E: Stories and beliefs from Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam.
Project: Development of the T.V.
Health: Exploring physical factors in relation to our health and looking
after ourselves.
Spelling: Revise magic ‘e’ words and vowel diagraphs. Prefixes – un, re, dis, pre – Suffixes – er, est, y.
Handwriting: Tricky letters – ss and ff. The 8 break letters – (letters which don’t join) b g j p q x y z
Reading: Highland Literacy Project. Reading books with chapters. Reading for information - teaching children to find information from factual books.
Writer’s Craft - Discussing the ways an author uses punctuation, phrases, words, description to write a story.
Writing – a news report, weather report, cartoon strip with speech bubbles, joining sentences with and, or, but (for P.3) so, because, then, that (for P.4)
Maths: P.4 - practising all tables 2 – 9,
Number - dividing by equal sharing, dividing with remainders, dividing by grouping, linking tables to division, using mental methods to help, divide with remainders, solving problems using division.
Money – change from a pound, how to write an amount over a pound, add and subtract an amount of money over a pound.
Measure - quarter metre, change metres to cms and vice versa, find area by counting squares
Maths P.3 - practise tables 2 – 5, divide by equal sharing, recognise the
